TAKE #1: 1st Marine Veteran VP
Vice President-elect J.D. Vance wished a happy birthday to the Marines. It’s hard to believe, but in 249 years, he will be the first Marine veteran ever to become Vice President. Since the Democrats are always wanting us to vote for people because they’ll be the first this or that to hold the office, you’d think they’d be happy about this.
TAKE #2: A Message from a Veteran
On Veterans’ Day, I got a comment from a veteran who had received counseling from the late “Curly” Jim Musgrave, a cowboy poet/singer/songwriter and PTSD and survivor’s guilt counselor. Musgrave died in 2009, but our reader told of what a great help he was to so many veterans and wanted to share one of his poems for Veterans Day. He wrote:
“This poem was written in dedication to the many veterans of combat who return to peaceful places but bring the battleground home with them in the deepest recesses of their minds and spirits, to be relived in flashbacks as part of a post trauma syndrome. It was written after a vet Curly was working with came to a counseling session covered in road stains. He had crawled under his truck in the midst of a flashback triggered by a moist, evening wind through the palm trees.”
The poem is called “The Thunder in the Hills,” and you can read it at his website:

This is a chilling description not only of the price many veterans pay for protecting our freedom, but of the fact that it’s a problem that has gone on generation after generation. It’s to our shame that after all this time, our government still isn’t providing our veterans with the kind of care they deserve and are so quick to prioritize other things over their needs.
Let’s hope that the Trump Administration will forever end the days of letting our veterans sleep on the streets while illegal aliens get free hotel rooms.
TAKE #3: About that NY Trump Legal Case…
New York Judge Juan Merchan was going to sentence Trump on the 34 bogus counts of falsifying records, but he’ll now have to announce whether he’s going to uphold the guilty verdicts and cause a constitutional crisis or dismiss them, which should have happened on day one.
This article has background as well as the arguments for throwing this lawfare in the garbage bin of history, ranging from the Supreme Court’s immunity decision to the countless legal errors and biased actions made by the prosecution and judge.
TAKE #4: Rate Cuts
The Fed announce a 0.25% cut in interest rates. Fed Chair Jerome Powell said the cut was already planned and not impacted by Trump’s election.

Powell also declared that he would not step down even if Trump called for his resignation, and it’s “not permitted under the law” for the President to fire or demote him. Sounds like a challenge.

TAKE #5: You Get What You Voted For…
Voters in New York and California moved a little to the right, but they still haven’t learned their lesson. Thanks to them, while the rest of America soundly rejected DEI and reverse discrimination, they’re now enshrined in the New York State Constitution.
In California, Gov. Gavin Newsom is already trying to set up a “resistance” to Trump’s reforms that a majority of Americans want…
And California regulators voted Friday to impose even stricter standards on gas to fight “climate change” (because it’s caused largely by California commuters), a move that will add up to 65 cents more in taxes per gallon to what are already the highest gas prices in America. Congratulations, Californians, you’re getting what you voted for!
