TAKE #1: Kiss the Ring

It’s been very instructive to see how many people who told us before the election that if Trump won, it would be THE END OF THE WORLD are now scrambling to kiss his ring.

Latest to seek favor: billionaire Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, who had dinner with Trump at Mar-a-Lago. We can’t say for certain, but it might be why Trump posted this on Truth Social:

“EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE MY FRIEND!!!”

TAKE #2: Hope on the Horizon

Some commentators have started to notice how Democrats and liberal media figures are trying to blame all negative news, from the stock market decline to the House budget impasse, on Trump — apparently forgetting that he’s not the President yet and won’t be for another month.

But it’s understandable that so many people are treating him as if he’s already President. Nature abhors a vacuum, and that’s what Biden and Harris are.

America needs a President, and we have to turn to someone. So a lot of people are proceeding as if it’s already next February, even if Trump doesn’t yet have power.

So if there’s hope on the horizon for an end to the Russia-Ukraine war, it’s because Putin appears willing to sit down and negotiate with Trump — but, Heaven forbid, not Biden.

TAKE #3: The Leaders We Need

I’m convinced the world is divided into people who just want to live their own lives and those who, for some reason, have an uncontrollable urge to tell everyone else how to live.

Unfortunately, to that latter group, government seems like the ideal place to work, and they tend to get 99.9% of all the attention from the media.

As more of them gravitated toward government, Congress abdicated much of its legislating authority to unelected bureaucrats. Their bureaus grew like kudzu, and so did their regulations with the force of law (but no input from the people.)

Thank the Lord the Supreme Court has recently given us tools to fight back, and DOGE may be coming to take a lawn mower to all this bureaucratic kudzu.

The temptation for the government to overreach is hardly new. In fact, it stretches back to the beginning of recorded history, and I bet even earlier than that…

TAKE #4: Indiana U Didn’t Get the Memo

If you thought that the curses of wokeism and racist DEI and critical race theory policies were blown away by Trump’s election, it’s not that easy. Apparently, Indiana University hasn’t gotten the message yet.

TAKE #5: One Israel

I addressed the One Israel Fund’s annual gala.

As the nominee for U.S. Ambassador to Israel, I sent the nation this message: “You will never be alone again in your fight for freedom and to preserve the country and the land and the heritage that God gave you.”
